With the head office located in the heart of Brussels, the company is a nest of talent. Creation of the Maison Paul Natan
Birth of Edouard Vermeulen in Ieper (Belgium). Edouard Vermeulen studies interior decorating. This introduces him to the world of volumes and materials.
While looking for a galery to expose his interior decorating work, Edouard Vermeulen rents a space in the Maison de Couture Paul Natan, located on the Avenue Louise.
Edouard Vermeulen has been dressing members of the royal families for years. Clients of his include the Royal family of Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, and Luxemburg
First NATAN catwalk show, amongst the guests is Princess Paola.
Opening of the NATAN ready-to-wear store in Brussels (Belgium).
Creation of the ready-to-wear lines for the distribution.
Edouard Vermeulen designs the wedding dress of Princess Mathilde, the Princess of Belgium.
Creation of the NATAN+ collection. Opening of the stores in Maastricht (The Netherlands) and Ghent (Belgium).
Edouard Vermeulen receives the title ‘Officier de l’Ordre de Leopold II’.
Natan celebrates its 25 year anniversary.

Exposition of Princess Maxima’s outfits at the Apeldoorn Museum (The Netherlands) for her 40th birthday. Edouard Vermeulen designs an evening dress in a fair trade fabric, woven by women in Africa.
Edouard Vermeulen designs the outfit for the engagement of the Countess de Lannoy de Luxemburg.
For the abdication of HRH Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands at the balcony of the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, HRH Princess Maxima of the Netherlands will wear an outfit designed by Edouard Vermeulen of Natan. On the 1st of july Natan holds its Couture Fashion show in the Belgian Embassy in Paris to celebrate its 30th anniversary. On the 21st of july Natan dresses her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgian for the crowning of the Belgian King Filip. Natan opens its new Antwerp store in the Huidevettersstraat 44.

About Edouard Vermeulen
Born in Ieper (Belgium) on 4th March 1957, his training as an interior decorator (St. Luc Brussels) served as his initiation to work with volumes and materials After three years of activity as a decorator, he discovered his love for fashion and began presenting his own collection in 1984..
For years now, Edouard Vermeulen has created fashion for the Belgian royal family as well as for the royal courts of Sweden, The Netherlands and the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg for which he has been honoured in March 2003 with the insignia of Officer of the Order of King Leopold II. His creations also appeal to performance artists and many jet set personalities.
Edouard Vermeulen has created a personal style of contemporary purity, a source of femininity and refinement. The richness of the materials lends purity to the simplicity of the forms. A style resolutely suited to an active and refined woman of today.
